SWEET WOODRUFF
Europe Medieval

Sweet Woodruff - Galium ordoratum - or sweet scented bedstraw is a lovely flowering perennial herb native to Europe. Strongly scented and covered with tiny white flowers. The scent increases with drying, used in potpourri and as a moth deterrent. Used to flavor May wine, also used for treating wounds and a mild anesthetic.
